Many lives, Many Masters, Dr Brian Weiss

About : Many lives, Many Masters

The true story of a prominent psychiatrist, his young patient, and the past-life therapy that changed both their lives. As a traditional psychotherapist, Dr. Brian Weiss was astonished and skeptical when one of his patients began recalling past-life traumas that seemed to hold the key to her recurring nightmares and anxiety attacks. His skepticism was eroded, however, when she began to channel messages from the space between lives, which contained remarkable revelations about Dr Weiss’ family and his dead son. Using past-life therapy, he was able to cure the patient and embark on a new, more meaningful phase of his own career.

Many lives, Many Masters : Review:

The book starts with the introduction of the Author’s life. The highly qualified Psychiatrist. His patients were with Phobics, anxiety problems, panic attacks. These were the sufferings of Catherine as well. It seemed normal to Dr Brian Weiss at first. It was found that eight months of psychotherapy had no effect on Catherine’s problems. Due to which hypnosis was taken as the next treatment. Hypnosis works differently on people. It works depending on the information stored in the unconscious mind of a person.

The first session of hypnosis with Catherine did not yield any results because of the life span discussed during the hypnosis. When she was asked to go back in time. She was seen to be discussing her previous lifetime. This is how it was found that she had 86 previous lives before being Catherine.

The book discusses the previous lives of Catherine. Her looks, her life, how she died! In some of the lives, she was found to be a man working as a soldier, pilot. In some, she was found to be prostitute, maid.

There were so many changes that Catherine discovered in her life with each session revealing the after death experience and talks with masters about life values. She developed psychic powers.

The book is a different experience, out of the world and thought to provoke. We can deal with some of the drawbacks we experience in our lives and rather than blaming others, we could know maybe we need to change ourselves to some extent when we cannot understand the situation. Maybe, destiny wants us to play according to the way it wants. Else, let things be the way they are rather than trying to change it. Somethings doesn’t deserve us.

The writing is up to the point. No straying from the topic. Hence, it is a short book. It can be called an electrifying in a word. Because of the storyline. I mean believing something that is a fantasy, magical and after death experience is not so easy. I liked the way the author has stated it. So, let’s accept the facts this book throws right on us.

Nowadays, psychics have made this as a business. So, we cannot actually go directly to someone who claims they can help us with our weakness and ask them about our past lives. Reincarnation is the truth of life. Try not to run behind disclosing your secrets with the help of untrustworthy people who make it a money game for them. It will leave you bankrupt and with more anxiety and panic attacks.

Until and unless you feel like you are actually dreaming and feeling the things by yourself during hypnosis like the author has described. Do not believe psychics claiming they can find your past just by hand-holding meditation. This part is very crucial to believe and not believe is entirely our decision.

Book review 5/5

I loved this book. It was recommended to me a couple of years ago. I read it and have kept it out to look at occasionally ever since.
