“I was good at spewing bullshit. It’s why I became a writer”
– Verity, Colleen Hoover
About : Verity
Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish.
Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity’s notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started. What Lowen doesn’t expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended for anyone to read. Page after page of bone-chilling admissions, including Verity’s recollection of what really happened the day her daughter died.
Lowen decides to keep the manuscript hidden from Jeremy, knowing its contents would devastate the already grieving father. But as Lowen’s feelings for Jeremy begin to intensify, she recognizes all the ways she could benefit if he were to read his wife’s words. After all, no matter how devoted Jeremy is to his injured wife, a truth this horrifying would make it impossible for him to continue to love her.
A standalone romantic thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover.
Verity : Review
Colleen Hoover has the magic of leaving her readers speechless. She has proved she is the queen of making storyline and to keep her readers awake at night. I was literally reading this book till my eyes were dropping and I was finding difficult to keep myself awake.
The story revolves around the three characters, Jeremy Crawford, Verity Crawford and Lowen. Lowen is offered a good job of completing the book series Verity has started and she cannot complete it as she was captivated by an accident. When Lowen goes to live with Crawford family. She finds the truth behind why Verity is not able to finish the remaining books in series.
I was so hooked by the book that I was literally asking my fellow book reader friends to read it soon because I wanted someone to discuss the complications of the story and characters. I still feel that whatever I write in my review will not be sufficient for this book. I still feel I have so many things to discuss.
1) The book will keep you awake at night.
2) You will still be thinking about the book after you have finished it.
3) You will fall in love with the characters and then unlove them back (this is what I did).
Author does the full justice to the book making it as Romance thriller novel.
I am impressed by the idea of a book inside a book. Unanswered autobiography and fucked up characters.
It’s a tragedy that you will live and be in shock because that creepy part of the story lives in you. I must say the book had full control over me!
